David Sims shoots Karolin Wolter for Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2015 Campaign.
I don’t know but when we think about this campaign suddenly the Coldplay song “Princess of China” comes to our mind, and it is not necessary in a bad way.
The collection is inspired by a personal and treasured collection of antique kimonos.
Colour: Geisha pink, blossom pink, lantern red, black, silver and bone. Fabric: Engineered silk jacquards and knits. Silk wools, chiffon, organza and leather. Print, texture and embellishment: Kimono florals and kite prints, marquetry leather, metallic floral spheres, silk embroidered cherry blossom, hand cut floral ruffles and hand painted petals. Shoes: Banded black, silver and geisha pink snakeskin sandals with lacquered soles hover above a Perspex heel.
We must admit the prints and textures are to die for. The innovative silhouettes, as usual, are the Alexander McQueen innovation signature.
The eyebrows? We are ignoring them by the moment. We are already focusing our eyes to better things is the campaign like the purse. But let us tell you we love the red lipstick contrasting with those beautiful eyes.
The collection has a lot of beautiful pieces, pants, tops and amazing short dresses (some with cape), REALLY AMAZING SHORT DRESSES. We are wondering, why they are not in the campaign? Something to take in mind next time.
At least we have a short tease of the amazing shoes the collection has. THE TRUTH, WE WANTED MORE!
