HOTEL OASIS IN PALM SPRINGS

Movie stars and teenage idols stroll through the most beautiful shelters of Palm Springs and the hotel ‘Kimpton’ is an example of that. Cool, cheeky and with a ‘chic’ patina, it will surprise you.

Celebrities from Los Angeles and local people from Southern California know this. Palm Springs is the perfect destination for everything: A weekend of relaxation or a party continues without respite. A place where the ingredients coexist combining design, nature and culture and the Coachella, the Modernism Week and the Palm Springs International Film Festival prove it.

Recently the hotel [Kimpton The Rowan Palm Springs] (rowanpalmsprings.com) draws attention above any concert, show or gala and is that it has the first and only pool on the roof of the whole city. The space, designed by Chris Pardo of Elemental Architecture, reflects the beauty of the desert and the glamorous wing of the city. Six cabins and several lounge chairs invite you to rest in this unique environment.

Housed in a seven-story building, the hotel has 153 rooms, two restaurants, the Juniper Table, a casual Mediterranean cafe in the lobby, and 4 Saints on the roof, where you can savor intercultural gastronomy and two bars, the Window Bar and The High Bar, as well as large rooms for events and meetings.

The aim was to create an architecturally impressive building – conceptualized by ACRM + Interiors and the architects Dion McCarthy and Mark Kirkhart under the DesignARC signature – and whose guests are the most important element of the project. The design honors the mid-century legacy and modernism of Palm Springs, with a contemporary point of view. In addition, it is inspired by the forms of light and landscape.
On the outside, cement blocks are combined with boxes and balconies creating movement and visual dynamism. A metal screen filters the sun’s rays and adds texture. Inside, the spaces were conceived by Powerstrip Studio and the Kimpton design team. Bathed in natural light, they have an urban and minimalist style with references to the desert. The furniture is characterized by its refined lines and various works of art adorn the hotel like the macrame owl next to the reception.

Decorated with a palette of blue, green and cream tones, all rooms offer views of the mountains or private terraces. With an area of 232 square meters, the presidential suite occupies the top floor of the hotel, providing an incredible landscape. From the Kimpton The Rowan Palm Springs you can easily access the roads that lead to the mountains to enjoy nature but also to the shops, restaurants and museums that take us completely into the artistic and cultural scene of Palm Springs.
