As part of the search to create a different hotel, where guests feel transported to an art era, they invited 28 artists to create their “site-specific” pieces, so that we could offer you imagination, sensitivity, delicacy and living art. The artists are renowned professionals, working with clear motivation and goals: to surround the hotel with beauty.
“Our challenge was to create an architectural design thatconveyed the values of a way of life . To capture the feeling of sun and the shade of a pergola, the feeling of different types of wood, the use of water and plants as elements to unify the architectural design concept. To capture the idea of freedom, of a close bond with nature , a reflection of Mediterranean culture. And to do this without forgetting that the design itself had to mesh with the characteristics of the materials, the atmosphere, the demands of the times and the requirements of everyday use. The use of unique materials in the façade – sandstone and ceramic – is reminiscent of the island’s traditional dry stone and painted plaster walls. The suites all face the sea and sun, are laid out in the style of an imaginary boat moored in the bay. The wood trim on the terraces, the size of the suites and their layout all help to reinforce this concept. Large picture windows the width of the entire suite join the exterior and interior fully, creating a feeling of being wholly immersed in the ambience of the place. The elements used in the loft-style interior also give a sense of a space without borders, closing the virtuous circle of this project in which emotion and rationality live in perfect harmony. This project that reminisces, celebrates and moves, inviting guests to experience the naturalness and spontaneity that the island of Ibiza offers. The architectural team for the project was Carlos de Benito, Julian Colmenares and Juan Martinn-Baranda.”
