Redemption plays with the concept of Rock-n-Roll Fantasy in their latest campaign lensed and directed by Redemption’s Creative Director himself, Gabriele “Bebe” Moratti.
Moratti has a nice hand at photography and not a bad sense of narration. Not unlike fellow designer Hedi Slimane, he shoots predominately in black and white and often photographers rock musicians during on stage performances.
For this season the designer enlist Edita Vilkeviciute in a film that cast her as a musician who drives her black Rolls-Royce to her country estate to put pen to paper and create her latest masterpiece. The film, clocking in at almost three minutes, could certainly be edited as the viewer is taken through unnecessary rooftop catwalk segments and hair flips in front of a massive swimming pool. Designers often aren’t their best editors, loving every piece of their collections and tending to showcase product over narrative. Moratti feels as though he is on the cusp of finding the right scale to be able to chop off the third that is unnecessary. After all, it is a long way to the top if you want to rock-n-roll but thankfully Moratti has the fantasy side down so it simply a matter of more sound checks.
