London had one of its most pronounced showings in recent memory proving once again that creativity and commerce can go hand in hand. Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, Anya Hindmarch and Toga championed the trend of Embellishment while Roksanda and Joseph painted the town red with the trend of Crimson. Florals continued to blossom past the runways of New York as Simone Rocha, Preen, and Erdem planted seeds that will continue to bloom in Milan and Paris.

FLORAL
Johnny Coca dived into the archive and discovered 1970s Mulberry Home wallpaper patterns that proved just the heritage fix he needed for his autumn show – pleated dressed and quilted eiderdown coats were enlivened thanks to the blousy florals. Christopher Kane tapped into a similar nostalgia, working satin florals that looked suited to the walls of a stately home into mini dresses, and Preen followed suit with brightly-coloured rose patterned midis. Wallflower is now a compliment.
