SUN IN SAINT-TROPEZ

In the Mediterranean Riviera of France you can only have a glamorous lifestyle and this majestic house in Saint-Tropex designed by the South African studio ‘Saota’ is the best contemporary proof of it.

Everyone who knows Saint-Tropez – the most chic seaside resort in southern France – knows that the predominant architectural style is quite classic and typical of Provence. However, this house in the South African Saota studio is the opposite.

The architects wanted to reinterpret the lifestyle of the area based on refined and contemporary lines that fuse the interior spaces with the landscape. The house is a short walk from Pampelonne, the favorite beach of the stars (from Jane Fonda to Claudia Schiffer through Elton John and the best current DJs). All have passed through the nearby Club 55. However, the project was conceived to provide the highest level of privacy to the owner who is the owner of a major photography gallery.

Upon arrival, the palm trees create a tropical atmosphere. The facade facing the street is covered by stone panels reminiscent of stucco, a finish frequently used in Saint-Tropez. A wooden door with brass knobs welcomes you in a fluid way. Inside, the double height entrance adorned with a large chandelier has floor to ceiling windows without frames that connect the pool and the garden and pool. To the side is the lounge-lounge, the dining room and the kitchen furnished with Boffi systems and Gaggenau appliances. On this same floor there is also a guest room separated from the rest by a patio adorned with a fountain and an olive tree.

The adjoining land is full of trees. Therefore, work was done on the dissolution of the internal / external border. The land is ideally oriented to the south and the garden seems to merge with the living room. The pool, the terrace, the pavilion with an outdoor lounge, the bar and the petanque court ensure you have the best experience under the Mediterranean sun.

The combination of solid walls and wide openings both horizontal and vertical characterize the design of this house. The owner took care of the decoration. He included works of art from his personal collection and furniture by Patricia Urquiola and Minotti, among others. The colorful palette is neutral and the natural and organic materials. In Saint-Tropez, life is savored with style.
