HOTEL CALDERA HOUSE: A WINTER GATEWAY IN THE WILD WEST

The new ’boutique’ hotel ‘Caldera House’ is the perfect place to discover the Wild West region with some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in the USA. A very AARB Magazine winter getaway

The ski season is about to start, how about your next winter getaway? If you are a nature lover, maybe the Wild West of USA, in Wyoming, has all the ingredients for you: mountains, lakes, unique flora and fauna. In the Teton village, at the foot of the slopes and a few minutes from an exceptional natural park (Grand Teton), is Caldera House, which opened its doors recently in a beautiful villa that resembles more a private residence than a hotel . It has eight spacious suites, some with two rooms (and an area of 139 square meters), others with four (and an area of 465 square meters). All of them with a terrace, a gourmet kitchen, large windows, fireplaces and outdoor patios with jacuzzis and views towards the mountain. The interior spaces, the work of two renowned studios: Commune of Los Angeles and the local team of Carney Logan Burke, give off a feeling that is both elegant and relaxed, sophisticated and comfortable.

Wood is the material that predominates in all areas, creating a warm atmosphere. The global aesthetic combines European and American references with design pieces by George Nakashima, Jean Prouvé, Lindsey Adelman and Axel Vervoordt, among many others. One of the greatest sources of inspiration for the designers of this project were the most famous European ski resorts, such as Saint-Moritz (in the 50s), Gstaad (in the 60s) and Cortina d’Ampezzo (in the 70s). With his friends and co-owners Michael Novogratz, David Barry and Randal Nardone, the owner of Caldera House, Wesley Edens, also wanted to reflect the spirit of the American West and the local culture through the spaces and the environment.

Guests have access to the Old Yellowstone Garage, which has become a true institution in the area over the years and begins a new chapter in its history with Caldera House, the South Cable Cafe, spa, gym and yoga room, as well as the lounge and bar of a private club housed in the third level of the hotel. In addition, it has an on-site ski shop, The Mudroom, which allows you to have everything you need to explore the region and enjoy outdoor activities in just a few minutes. The hotel concierge gives personalized recommendations to know which are the best spots for skiing or snowshoeing. Less than 10 kilometers away, Grand Teton National Park offers great panoramas throughout the year. From May to October, guests of Caldera House can also visit the famous Yellowstone Park, which is two hours away by car. With so many options at your fingertips, this destination invites you to appreciate the beauty and majesty of unforgettable natural landscapes.
