HOTEL ARIMA

We really like everything that Sandra Tarruella and Ricard Trenchs create. But if, in addition, it is a project in San Sebastian and surrounded by nature … the conquest is total. This is your Hotel Arima.

We speak of a privileged environment: the Hotel Arima -open at the end of 2017- is perched on one of the dunes of San Sebastian, a few meters from the emblematic Basque Culinary Center and surrounded by … the Miramón forest. Look where you look from him, you can see the full potential of the land and the Basque landscapes.

The hotel is also integrated into the Senso building, a unique space that houses student residence, cafeteria, convention rooms, kitchen classrooms and a gym-spa … all of them related to sustainable values and nature lovers.

That’s why, when the Tarruella Trenchs studio received the project, they proposed a timeless hotel in which the inspiring and imposing views dominated the scene. That is why various methods and tools were proposed to achieve the main objective: for the lobby to underline that connection between the exterior and the interior and that this would never go out of style.

Thus, they solved the large dimensions of the ground floor forming small cozy rooms and introducing vertical elements to divide spaces; they took full advantage of the views integrating them as a decorative element; and they incorporated furniture of pure lines and noble materials to bring warmth and personality. Among them, pieces by Sancal, Santa & Cole or Papiol and, of course, own designs by Tarruella Trenchs Studio.

Everything in the Hotel Arima is thought to the millimeter to get a space worthy of its surroundings that today, just nine months after its opening, has already become a place of worship.
