ISABEL MARANT S/S 2015 RTW RUNWAY

PARIS – Isabel Marant this season is all about TRIBAL ROMAN GLADIATOR GODDESS.  Her formula is definitely foolproof, she always know what women want to wear and deliver.

“Tribal without being too literal” is how the designer described what she was going for.  The gladiator shoes are to die for, the skirts, the tops, the jackets are amazind!

This is a collection every women would want to wear!

Marant was dancing to an African beat. It’s been 25 years since her visit to Togo, Ghana, and Kenya, but the adventure is still resonating with her. Her signature flippy miniskirts, roomy sweatshirts, and boyish trousers were all there, but received an earthy overhaul in a desert color palette. Frayed hems and roomy bajas were tied with heavy rope. For youthful urbanites whose wanderlust only gets them as far as crosstown—graphic minidresses with pintura matérica–inspired prints put these notions in a fun new context. “I was looking at the fifties artists Joan Miró and Antoni Tàpies,” confirms Marant.

The artisanal fringe skirts and tops in more literal motifs brought a crafty glamour to a very commercial brand. Free-spirited ideas for vacation evenings included black eyelet jeans dotted with puka shells and an edgy accordion-pleat leather miniskirt (based loosely on traditional African dress).

“All flats,” asserted Marant, in a pair of the highly desirable runway gladiator sandals herself. That shoe style is already set to have global influence for spring 2015.  Source: vogue.com
